Royston Cricket Club was founded over 200 years ago in 1790. We play at the Recreation Ground in Therfield village.

Royston CC is affiliated to the Cambridgeshire Cricket Board.

Our Saturday teams play in the Cambridgeshire Cricket Association and our 1st XI, having gained promotion in seasons 2009, 2010, 2013 and most recently last season in 2016, will compete in Senior League Division 3 in 2017. Contact captain Martin Leary (07940 550981). 

Our 2nd XI, reformed in 2012, and having gained promotion in 2013, 2014 and last season in 2016, will play in Junior League Division 3 South in 2017. Contact captain Bonham Harper (07743 352666). 

The 2016 season saw the Club enter a 3rd XI into the CCA and we will be competing in Junior League Division 5 South in 2017 - contact David May (07801 235814) for more details.


The Club also runs The Keatley Cup, a 7 aside one day tournament that  attracts several local Clubs, with Royston hosting the event on 23rd June.


We publish a Yearbook (in April) which contains articles and statistics from the preceding season as well as contact details for Club officials.


The Club is also affiliated to the Cambridgeshire Youth Cricket Association (CYCA) and has a thriving young cricketers section. For the 2017 season, the Youth Section will be entering teams at Under-10, Under-11, Under-13, & Under-19 age groups. The Club has joined the new All Stars programme for 5 to 8 year olds. (see All Stars page for details). This aims to give young children a fun introduction to cricket.

The Club also enters into some KwikCricket tournaments that serve to offer competitive cricket to some Under-10s and we will also be entering a number of girls  tournament, which wil take place through the summer. For youth cricket enquiries contact David May 07801235814 (

Senior outdoor training starts on Tuesday 25th April from 6 till 7.30. Junior training begins on 30th April from 10am until midday, with an earlier finish for the very young. We have a number of qualified coaches running these training sessions - two Level 1 coaches (James May, and Simon Fell) and two Level 2 coaches (Dave Isherwood, Martin Leary.). For coaching enquiries contact Dave Isherwood 01763 246065 ( Our Club Welfare Officer is Cathy Smith 01763 853997.
